Yeah, I haven't seen a single thing from you yet that I didn't adore. *G* AND THIS IS NO EXCEPTION. (Those aren't even my colors and yet I love this!)
For scale: what we usually do is put some kind of prop in the picture: a book, a drinking glass, a pen, yadda. We 'stage' the scene so it looks like you just casually took off the piece of jewelry and tossed it on your dresser, or whatever, and that serves for both scale and artisticness!
Yeah, I'd like to get more into staging for the pictures. Right now the only place for good natural light is next to our sliding glass door, which means that photo opportunities are limited to Q's weekend naps since the family room is his domain. So when I redid the photos on all my back inventory, it was a frantic setup-snap-next affair to get them all done, and it still took three weeks. :)
Though now I should have a little more time to stage new stuff in the nap window, since I'll have fewer pieces to shoot per session.
Hmm. Maybe I should start training the kid to be my eventual personal photographer...
